Otto Thorsen is an abstract painter who explores humanity’s place within the universe by creating paintings based on deep-space photography and contemplative spirituality. His unique drip technique channels the gravitational force of the earth with a pendulum to blend water, pigments and acrylic paint on the canvas, thus inviting the universe to participate in the act of creation. Painting has become a major part of Thorsen’s spiritual practice and his pieces are intended to inspire self-reflection about the viewer’s relationship to the natural world.
